To have intelligence you don't have to be the straight A student,
you don't have to be the smartest.
Having intelligence can mean many things.
The dictionary meaning defines intelligence as
"the capacity to acquire and apply knowledge by means of thought and reason."
Even though the dictionary has the meaning,
it does leave out many other ways of having intelligence.
having intelligence could be,
birds building a nest,
animals foraging for food,
humans inventing machines,
the fact that birds travel south in the winter,
or humans coping with everyday situations,
All of the above are examples that require the capability to think using our brains,
and the intelligence that we and animals have.
We all have some sort of intelligence that we use to think,
and make decisions on a daily basis.

HOMEWORK
this one will be kinda short but very needed..
I HATE HOMEWORK,
teachers are always giving you so much homework saying,
its not that much it will only take 20 to 30 minutes,
well do they every take a second to think,
how many other teachers are giving us that same amount of homework?
At the end of the day i could end up with seven classes of homework where the teachers say it will only take that short 20 to 30 minutes,
well guess what teacher,
now i have six more classes of homework,
that's 7 x each 20 to 30 minute assignment = 140 to 210 minutes of homework now!
not too mention the big assignment's that are an hour for just one of them!
plus i have basketball practice or a game every day, and church on Wednesdays.
so please teachers.. do us both a favor, and do the work in class.
that way we aren't stressing out staying up till 12 trying to do homework
and you guys don't have to correct anything!
look how wonderful that is. :)

work ethic
I think work ethic is a set of values that are based on hard work and how much work you do.
A work ethic may include being reliable,
having intelligence,
doing work on time,
maintaining social skills,
or how hard you work towards something.
having intelligence,
doing work on time,
maintaining social skills,
or how hard you work towards something.
In school kids who show better work ethics should get the better scores on their homework, projects, or tests.
The kids who aren't showing good work ethic,
showing procrastination in their work,
copying others work,
or just not caring at all,
should be getting the grades they are trying for,
which are low grades.
showing procrastination in their work,
copying others work,
or just not caring at all,
should be getting the grades they are trying for,
which are low grades.
In the world of adults and workers with good or bad work ethics,
I think workers that show good work ethic in their jobs,
should be selected for better positions,
more responsibility and even promotions.
I think workers that show good work ethic in their jobs,
should be selected for better positions,
more responsibility and even promotions.
Workers who don't show good work ethic,
may be viewed as failing to provide value for the employer that is paying them,
and should not be promoted or placed in positions of greater responsibility.
may be viewed as failing to provide value for the employer that is paying them,
and should not be promoted or placed in positions of greater responsibility.
So as you can see having a good work ethic will always be better than a poor work ethic.
Having good work ethic will get you somewhere in life.
Having poor work ethic won't get you very far.
That is why i try and have a positive work ethic all the time,
and as times can be hard and i may sometimes not feel like trying or doing some work,
i will always try my hardest to do my best.
and as times can be hard and i may sometimes not feel like trying or doing some work,
i will always try my hardest to do my best.

another year passes
2010. It's been a decade since the turn of the millennium. Seems like it had been such a long time, yet so quick time flies. For me, these 10 years have been very meaningful. Standing at the end of 2010 looking back at the start of 2000, I don't think I have the vocabulary to fully describe the experience. As I run through the ten years, a lot has changed with me, i have turned from a child too a young adult, yet I feel like I am only beginning to understand what life really is. I am only starting to grasp all that ten years worth of stuff life's been throwing at me. In ten years, I have witnessed so many changes in and around me, I still can't quite fully take it all in.
I stepped into 2000 a young girl scared for my first year of school, and stepped out of 2010 still a student and still scared of what my future holds.
I stepped into 2000 with friends, our biggest fights being about who stole whose crayons, and stepped out of 2010 with friends, and our everyday unneeded dramma..
I stepped into 2000 immature, excited and curious about my new life as a student, and stepped out of 2010 a little wiser, more mature and wishing to relive the days of naps, finger painting, and no judging of others.
If you were asked to describe the last ten years of your life, what would instantly come to mind? The laughters and happy times, the tears and sad times, the anger and frustrating times, the fear and despairing times... these emotions, they link to the things I have done or experienced that are particularly memorable. So I look back at the 20 most memorable experiences of my 2010 and this is what my list is like:
1.Turning 16, being able to drive, being free to go where i want, when i want, and not have to rely on others to get me there.
2.meeting all my new friends at my new school.
3. welcomed my new baby sister, laynee to world on November 25.
4. got my first car, a ford explorer.
5. Climbed New Mexico's tallest mountain, wheelers peak, all the way to the top.
6. Started my sophomore year of high school.
7. Traveled to Texas, what i do every summer, but is always worth it.
8. went to Chicago for the 3rd time.
9.Flew in an airplane, which i've done countless times, but i love flying.
10. met my amazing best friend, that i can tell anything too.
11.went too stay with my cousin for three weeks.
12. Ran a new PR (personal record) in cross country, 15:15
13.Went kayaking.
14. Met a boy and fell for him
15. got my heart broke by the same boy
16. Had a taste of heartache.
17. Broken some treasured friendships.
18. Rediscovered old friendships.
19. discovered the joy of laughter with many friends who made much difference in my life.
20. Grew closer to 2011, to start the next amazing, terrifying, stressful, yet wonderful, decade of my incredible life.
Here's to a wonderful 2010 and a promising 2011.
Happy New Year!

Basketball game
I had a basketball game today at mankato west.
Although we didn't win, it was a pretty good game.
I also got to see my mom, step dad, and little brothers.
That was the bet part of the night.
(since i now live with my dad instead of my mom)
I loved seeing them and catching up since the last time we hung out.
It made me sad when i had to leave.
i miss them so much..
can't wait too spend more time with them..
i love you guys.

Having Courage
Courage is not something that comes from to you in moments of need or in emergencies. Courage is not something that can be handed over to you through friends, peers, parents, or lessons learned. It is as much a habit as anything else. People tend to speak of courage only in terms of deeds. An a example is, they might speak of courage in a battle field where Soldiers are fighting or how policemen and firefighters are supposed to show courage. Or people might refer to courage in the situations of devastation. Floods, tornadoes, earthquakes, and other natural disasters affect people and after the disasters hit those victims must show courage. |
However, courage is not the name you can give to you putting up with bad situations.
After all, in a bad situation there is not much one can do expect cope with whatever strength they have in recovering from that bad situation.
The kid who breaks a arm on the basketball court but goes back to the game later shows courage. The student who has troubles following their dreams with the pressures of drugs, and alcohol, and saying no to the pressures of others, shows courage.
The real test of courage is in our daily lives.
Or should be.
The courage to speak the truth.
All the time.
Because lies are the biggest and most obvious kind of cowardice that all of us hide behind.
The courage to speak our mind and not stay silent, only because we are afraid that other people might not agree with us.
or that we may be judged by others for what we think.
Of course, there will always be ones who don't agree with you.
ones who will judge you.
And of course ones who will not like your choices or your decisions.
But not speaking your mind can lead to much worse things.
To have courage is to have:
The courage to stand up for what we believe in.
The courage to follow the rules and laws even when others aren't.
The courage to help others make the right decision when they need help.
The courage to resist those who take easy ways out.
Never be afraid to have courage, or too much courage, it is a powerful thing.
Everyone needs courage.

leader or a follower?
"if you follow the crowd, you might get lost in it."
that's something I think about daily.
i try my hardest not to be a follower.
yet i find myself relying on others at times
followers seem to be always frowned upon
yet is being a follower always a bad thing?
if someone else is the leader of something you believe in,
doesn't that make it acceptable to follow?
doesn't that make it acceptable to follow?
Good leaders are made, not born.
If you have the desire and willpower,
you can become a leader.
you can become a leader.
Good leaders develop through a never ending process of doing what you feel is right
to be a leader does not come naturally, you become a leader by doing what you want or standing up for something you believe in.
you do what you want,
even though others may not want the same thing
Good leaders are continually doing what they want even if they are on there own.even though others may not want the same thing
an expression i hear almost daily is,
"be a leader, not a follower."
"be a leader, not a follower."
so if you're not a follower,
does that automatically make you a leader?
does that automatically make you a leader?
you can take charge in certain situations,
rather than rely on someone else to get things done,
rather than rely on someone else to get things done,
but that doesn't always make you a good leader.
for me personally,
i'll only follow the crowd as long as it takes me in the direction i want to go.
i'll only follow the crowd as long as it takes me in the direction i want to go.
and it seems to me that even if you're the leader of the crowd,
you still one day could get lost in being a follower of a situation.
you still one day could get lost in being a follower of a situation.
but as being a leader is most likely the best thing,
is being a follower always bad..?
is being a follower always bad..?

what is the true power of giving?
There is a great power that comes with giving,
and as you may be thinking,
"I don't have the kind of money to be giving to others all the time",
guess what,
you don't need your wallet at all to give,
giving is an act of pure selflessness,
where you are simply giving from your heart,
There shouldn't be any motives behind your act of giving,
you should give because you truly do care,
A true act of giving is done not on a holiday,
or a special occasion,
but because you simply just want to give someone a special gift of
love, care, respect, kindness, wisdom, or strength,
there are many ways you can give to someone,
but the key is that you give with wanting nothing in return,
that is the true power of giving.

beauty of adaptation
Many things Adapt,
Humans adapt too new situations like,
new schools,
new jobs,
new homes,
Animals adapt to new homes for reasons like,
birds moving south in the winter,
or many animals having to find new homes from the rain Forrest's being destroyed for our benefit,
Whether you are animal or human,
adapting to new things may be very hard,
being in a new place,
having to meet new people,
building a new nest cause yours was destroyed by human machines,
any way your having to adapt to something new will most likely be difficult,
but if you stay strong your bound to get through anything,
and sooner or later everything will be back to normal again,
that's the beauty of adaptation.

animals vs. humans
humans and animals are very different from one another.
We humans have live in a complex world.
We have very complex technology.
While animals live a simple life the life they always have.
We as humans started off like them,
we had no technology and a very simple life,
but we progessed into something more.
something much bigger.
We humans are a somewhat ruler of animals.
We have pets and zoos and take care of other wild life.
what does it mean to be a complex human?
superior language
many different language
specialized use of thumb and fingers
we like to change our appearances (make-up, plays)
ability to lie
we look for ways to change reality (alcohol, drugs, virtual reality)
upright walkers, bipedal (consistently)
ability to know we are being cruel
complex emotional conditioning
we find ways to exploit nature (drinking animals’ milk)
seem to have superior level of intelligence.
We can think abstractly.
We create religion.
We create culture
We control the number of offspring we have (pill, abortion)
Superior organizational skills
Technology and ability to advance in culture
We keep a record of our past.
We write, drive.
Superior ability to foresee consequences and understand the differences between right and
wrong, then act accordingly.
Brain structure: very complex, and our cortex is different in size and density from other animals.
what does it mean to be a animal?
well there are many different types of animals
all we know is they dont have the tachnology we do
and each animal has one language
how are animals and humans alike?
we can see animals may be very very different from us,
but they do have emotions just like us.
they feel saddness,
they feel happiness,
they feel the same emotions we do
so as we may be there leader or owner
we must always treat an animal with respect, they do feel what we feel.

Beauty
“Beauty is a primeval phenomenon, which itself never makes its appearance, but the reflection of which is visible in a thousand different utterances of the creative mind, and is as various as nature herself.” -Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe
Everyday we are surrounded by things of pure beauty,
and most of the time we dont even realize it.
Are you aware of all the beauty in the world?
Do you know its there?
or are you too caught up in this industrilized world to even notice it?
The beauty could be in a form of a rising sun,
the first light snow fall of the year,
the sound of a child’s laugh,
the flowing steam off a fresh morning coffe,
The moon as it dances on a calm nights waters,
The moon as it dances on a calm nights waters,
or that beauty of a coy smile from a stranger.
yet beauty is also something you dont see,
Beauty is silence,
one of the most beautiful sounds in life is one that most of us do not do enough. It is no sound at all,
it is pure silence.
When we go silent, our minds and bodies have a chance to reset and calm down. When this occurs, a sense of peace and rest comes over us. Not only that, we clear out the mental static in our minds and we are able to see the world more clearly. We can relieve all our stress from the day, and even if its just for a moment, that moment is charised.
Beauty is love,
the most beautiful thing in the world…love. We were born from love, and we live to love. Love is the greatest driving force in our lives. It is our purpose to love and to be loved. At the very core of every action, this is our greatest need. The invisible power of love is the greatest thing we can give to one another. Love has the power to break down walls, unite countries, and create hope,
and totally change the world.
Most people see beauty as, that girl on the cover of a magazine, or a painting by an artist, or a beach man made for a hotel.
Beauty is everywhere we look,
its not just the man made things, or the make up we put on a girl.
its the things we are born with, and the things god himeself have given us.
Beauty is an amzing thing and it surrounds us daily.

Every individual, is beautiful in their own unique way.
Every person in this world was MADE to be and individual,
we attempt at being the same,
by following the same fashions,
doing the same things,
but in the end our individuality comes out.
Teenagers especially, being young, give into peer pressure,
being a teenager myself i see it happen every single day.
We judge, the judgemental.
Everyone is against everyone,
because we haven't found our individual person.
We are confused,
we are anxious,
were always worrying about what other people think.
I generally tend to admire someone being themselves.
That all there is to be, not exactly the same as your friends and family,
yourself.
Thats how we were made to be,
imagine how boring the world would be if we were all the same?
im a bit crazy i show it a bit differently in a happy way, because i'm afraird of being boring it gets me through school, but i can always be myself around myfriends
Everyone has there own unique beauty,
our different facial features,
the individual shape of everyones eyes and nose,
the way our body was made,
it makes us who we are.
Don't hide your differences,
your differences are your individuality.
Every individual, is beautiful in their own unique way.

noise over silence
Noise vs. Silence,
sitting in class I finish my test and there is no noise what so ever,
I regret forgetting my ipod today more than anything.
If you were asked to live in a world of complete silence?
Or a world of noise what one would you chose?
I would chose a world filled of noise,
with a world of noise you have music and I couldn’t live without music.
I listen to it every chance I get!
Other noises aren’t very soothing like the noise of someone vomiting or fingernails on a
chalk board,
though the amount of good noises outweigh the amount of bad ones.
Without noise communication would be horrible.
Talking would become impossible.
Everything would be reading and writing and who wants to do that all day!
A world without communication that can be heard would just slide apart.
Nobody could hear a cry for help or the victorious scream of a first place runner
.
Life would feel emotionless and plain,
as dull as an unsharpened pencil!
And its very hard to write with that.
Ill leave you now with an unanswered question, What would you choose?
Noise? Or silence?

i want to help the ones who need it
Everything does come to an end,
happiness comes to an end,
Sadness comes to an end,
Friendships come to an end.
Everyone gets to that point in life, where they think;
What do I do?
How do I survive?
How did it get like this?
Why doesn’t anyone understand?
The constant struggle, to figure out, how to take on the next step in life.
Life is a challenge, to each individual their challenge is different and to survive your game of life, the first step to take is easier then you think, it could be answering the questions that your asking yourself in a positive attitude. For example,
What do I do?
I seek guidance from a friend, loved one or counsellor.
How do I survive?
Listen to what their point of views is of the situation that you are in and figure out with them, how to solve it.
How did it get like this?
Everyone makes mistakes, but everyone also learns from their mistakes.
Why doesn’t anyone understand?
You may have been focusing on something else for far to long to realise that it was holding you back, retrace your steps and think of simple ways things could have been solved. And just remember; not many people may have been in the same situation as you, but they may have been in a similar, its good to talk about things with other people and try to understand each other’s individual problems.
If you are someone, going through this situation, or about to, or have and didn’t know what to do, there IS help out there, everybody is here to help everybody, I believe that nobody is that selfish, and are always willing to help. Reach out! And let your feelings go!
My name is Bailey, and I am striving to be there for people that want my help, you are never alone in this world full of amazing people
and you are one of them
happiness comes to an end,
Sadness comes to an end,
Friendships come to an end.

friendship
Friendship is one of the most powerful things there is in life
to have a true friend is one of the most amazing things
A friend is someone you can count on for anything
and they can also count on you
you can trust them with your life
and they can also trust you
each friend knowing the other will always be honest with them
you can go to a friend for any problem
you may run into in your life
or you may have a friend that comes to you
with a problem of their own
friends know exactly how to make you smile
even on your worst of days
the sun will always shine when that true friend is near
friends always will have a time were they disagree
but true friends can always push past the issues they may have
and once again be the friends they were
if you are true friends you'll last,
if not your friendship will only linger in the past.
my best friend means the world to me
she knows everything i feel
she knows my every weakness
and all the problems I've dealt with in my life
she understands my worries and my fears
and listens to my hopes and dreams
she listens to how i feel about life and lover,
and knows what it all means to me,
not once does she interrupt me
or tell me i'm wrong
she understands what i am going through
and promises to forever be there
i reach out to her for anything
to show her i care
or when i need to be cared for
to pull her close and let her know
just how important she is too me
and how much i need her in my life
to tell her my secrets i wouldn't dare trust with anyone else
but her
my best friend.

if you ask me why i love running
Sometimes I am asked what it is about running that I love so much. I always pause, taken back by the question, as if I am being asked why I love my family, or my friends. When really..
I just do.
When i think of the question, "why do you love running?" i realize there are so many reasons why i love running. All depending on my mood, the mileage, my body, how much sleep i got, what i had ate that day, the weather, and many other things.
There is something about running that takes you from jumbled thoughts that scramble through our brains a million times per minute to nothing but a clear open mind. It sounds silly, but I love when I hit that point in a long run in which the thoughts just shut off. I'm just me, just running, just putting one foot in front of the other. I'm not thinking about school, or people that made me mad that day, or the thousand things that need to get done like homework that never ends, or anything. I'm just running..
And i love it.
Thump, thump, thump, my feet hit the ground and im off. Running down the road. Thump, thump, thump, i hear the birds singing, thump, thunp, i see the trees swaying in the wind. Thump, thump, nothing fills my mind besides the beautiful earth around me. I just take a breath of the fresh air and keep on running. It's so nice to think about nothing just for once. Everyone just gets way to flustered with their busy lives! Having about a million things to worry, then i go for a run and it all just disapears...
It's the most amazing feeling, it's like your at peace with everything. No one telling you what to do, where to go, or anything. Just me and the world. Nothing at all that i have to do except, pump my arms, and keep my legs going.
So if you ask me why i love running, i may tell you about how i can clear my head, i may tell you about how after i get done i feel fulling charged and can take on the world, or i may also tell you to try going on a run yourself. I know it sounds like a complete waste of time, or like to much work to even handle. But really just going on a run your own pace, all your thoughts just melting away and taking time to see the world for what it really is, you will truly see just why...
i love running.
