leader or a follower?

"if you follow the crowd,  you might get lost in it." 

that's something I think about daily. 

i try my hardest not to be a follower. 

yet i find myself relying  on others at times

followers seem to be always frowned upon

yet is being a follower always a bad thing?

if someone else is the leader of something you believe in,
 doesn't that make it acceptable to follow?

Good leaders are made, not born.

 If you have the desire and willpower,
you can become a leader.

 Good leaders develop through a never ending process of doing what you feel is right 

to be a leader does not come naturally,
 you become a leader by doing what you want or standing up for something you believe in. 

you do what you want,
 even though others may not want the same thing

 Good leaders are continually doing what they want even if they are on there own.

an expression i hear almost daily is,
 "be a leader, not a follower."

so if you're not a follower,
 does that automatically make you a leader?

  you can take charge in certain situations,
 rather than rely on someone else to get things done,

 but that doesn't always make you a good leader.

for me personally,
i'll only follow the crowd as long as it takes me in the direction i want to go.

 and it seems to me that even if you're the leader of the crowd,
 you still one day could get lost in being a follower of a situation.

but as being a leader is most likely the best  thing,
 is being a follower always bad..?
